Maureen O'Hara Biography

 Maureen O'Hara is a famous American actress and singer, both of Irish descent. The green-eyed beauty sporting flaming red hair was famous by her passionate and fiery parts in numerous American films. Her natural beauty and glamour was highly praised and she was widely regarded as the "Queen of Technicolor' in Hollywood. Her roles on screen reflect her strong, courageous spirit who fought for her survival and fame in a world dominated by males. She referred to herself as "the tough Irish girl" and she did not sacrifice her admiration for other people to secure the roles that she was entitled to due to merit. Throughout her career in the field of film she always spoke out against discrimination and injustice against female actors. For this, she earned lots of admirers. The autobiography of her, "Tis Herself", was released in 2004. The book was an honest and candid story of her life as well as the challenges she had to face in her climb to success. She was an adventurous person who wasn't afraid of making her own mistakes. She starred in over 60 films and became a cult actor across the world. Following her departure from Parra the couple got married Charles F. Blair Jr. in the year 1968. Blair was a brigadier in the past and chief pilot. He was also a pioneer in transatlantic aviation. O'Hara retired just a few years after their marriage. However, her happiness was not long-lasting when Blair lost her life in a devastating plane crash in 1978. In the same year she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and required urgent surgery. She was capable of recovering. She had six heart attacks, short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 throughout the years. O'Hara, 95 years of age, died peacefully in Boise (Idaho) on 24 October 2015.
