Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of Caroline (Friend) Pike, an accomplished classical violinist mother and Julian Pike, an opera singer dad. She spent her childhood travelling around Europe because of her parents' work. Pike was a student at Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 years old when she made her debut in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then noticed by an agent and signed. While her debut film was a big-budget action film, her involvement was mostly in smaller independent movies like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first film. Following the action movie, Doom (2006) and the thriller Fracture (2007), Pike was briefly a part of Hollywood film. But, she returned to smaller film with exceptional performances in three films: An Education (2008) Then, she starred in Made in Dagenham (2010) and the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). Alongside Tom Cruise as her female lead in Jack Reacher (2012), she made a return to action-movies.
