Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. She started her career in the industry at age four by performing voice overs and commercials. Her first film was Private Parts (1997). The Object of My Affection was her next film. She appeared in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in a park and was fostered by Josie. Sarah was able to work with Amy Carlson ("Josie" on AW) multiple times, including Falcone (2000), Law & Order (1990) and Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was selected to play the role of "Audrey Hepburn" in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story (2001). In the same year, she was cast as "Molly” in ABC’s The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999). Starring Kathy Bates, Audra Mcdonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chenoweth, Joe Gould's Secret (2000) as well as Falcone (2000). Sarah studied voice as well as tap, jazz, and hip-hop, as well as television and film work. Sarah, a New Yorker, also took part as an invited performer with her tap and theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. Sarah was home-schooled by her mom until 2nd grade. She then attended Public School. She was accepted to PPAS in 6th grade. This school is where she was until she graduated in 2008. Sarah is now 18, relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where she got an aircraft pilot named "My American Family". Once she was accepted and the name was changed into Modern Family (2009). Sarah is currently playing Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has won multiple awards most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
