Thora Birch

 Thora Birch, born March 11 1982, is an American actress. Her first film role was in Purple People Eater (1988), where she won the Young Artist Award for "Best Young Artistress Under Nine Years old". Birch became a star as young actress, appearing in films like All I Want for Christmas (1991), Patriot Games (92), Hocus Pocus (93), Monkey Trouble (1994), Now and Then (1995) and Alaska (1996). In 1999 she was nominated to receive an BAFTA nomination. In 2001, she was nominated for Best Actress for Ghost World. In 2003, Birch received an Emmy Award nomination for her performance in the title role in Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story. Her other films include Dungeons & Dragons (2000), The Hole (2001), Silver City (2004), Dark Corners (2006), Winter of Frozen Dreams (2009) and Petunia (2012).After taking an absence from acting, Birch resumed her career in 2016 and since then has appeared in a number of independent films. Birch has also appeared as Whisperer Mary / Gamma in Season 10 of The Walking Dead (2019-2020). Birch was born in Los Angeles, the eldest child of Jack Birch and Carol Connors. Birch is German-Jewish, Scandinavian as well as French-Canadian. [6] Thora is her name. It is derived from the Norse god Thor thunder and lightning. If she were a boy, that would be her full name. Kian Bolt Birch, her younger brother, is her mother. Both were adult film actors, and were both part of Deep Throat. Due to their experience in the entertainment industry, they were hesitant to help her, but were convinced to show Thora's photo to agents by a babysitter who saw her imitating commercials. Birch was only four years old when she had her first major break when her babysitter took her on a audition for a Quaker Oats advertisement.
