Markie Post

Markie Post grew-up in Walnut Creek. She started her career as a film and TV producer, notably "The New Card Sharks", (1978) and "Card Sharks" (1986). She continued to produce projects such as Double Dare (1976), and was a guest on numerous TV shows, including E! True Hollywood Story (1996) and Electra Woman (2000). Her most memorable TV performance was as "Christine Sullivan" in Night Court (1984). From 1984 to 1992 she was in 156 episodes. Marylee (Armstrong) Post is her daughter. She was a poet and a well-known nuclear physical scientist Richard Freeman Post (November 14 1918 until April 7 15th, 2015). Alongside her second husband Michael A. Ross, she had two children: Katie Ross (born June 26 in 1986) and Daisy Ross (30 March 1990). She was born in Palo alto, California and grew up near Walnut Creek in California. She was a cheerleader at Las Lomas High School, Walnut Creek, California. Earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Lewis & Clark College in Portland Oregon. She performed trick roping at The Wildest West Show of the Stars (1986). Her ashes were brought home to Michael A. Ross, her husband. She was a lifetime Democrat. Markie Post passed away on 7 August 2021, just three months from what would have been her 71st birthday on November 4. She died on the 27th day following Charles Robinson, her Night Court (1984), co-star, who died on July 11 2021. Even though the two shows are not connected, Night Court (1984) was the final show to end with Christine Sullivan's character moving to Washington DC. Hearts Afire (1992), began with Post as Georgie Lahti. Post was a new character in Hearts Afire (1992), after which she relocated to a small community after working in Washington DC.
